The entry-level interpreters and translators hope to earn good sum of money and to be the part of the team of big company. But it is hard to find good position. In fact interpreters and translators have to be specialists and experts in other spheres except of the sphere of foreign languages. For example, you will be valued if you are an expert in economics, journalism, jurisprudence. And the knowledge of foreign language is not enough to make a career. It is also necessary to have additional knowledge.
This is the reason for changing the sphere of work of many interpreters and translators. A person that speaks foreign languages fluently will be taken for the work in advertisement companies, in public relations sphere, in journalism and tourist business as well as in management.
The average salary of interpreters and translators may be from 100$ to 1000$. The salary usually depends on the amount of work, the company, the number of languages the worker speaks and the language with which the interpreter or translator works.
